The town of Jelenia Gora |
Today was an unplanned day for us. We are a bit more adjusted now to Poland time (still going to bed a little late and waking up a little late, but thankfully Connor is more on a 9 to 9 schedule) We took our time getting up and we decided to tour the city of Jelenia Gora. After we visited with Babcia yesterday, Tomek did take us to the center of town to visit. Nothing was open but there were still alot of things to see. Alot of old churches and buildings that are so close together! Also, this town (and country from what I hear) is really big on Pope John Paul II. There are pictures of him everywhere. I dont think he was from here, but I do know he was from Poland.
We started out the morning walking around and I'll admit, it was FREEZING! We stopped for a bite to eat and sadly this was the first time I had something in Poland that was not good. I ordered some chicken that was not cooked all the way. Now most of you know what a weirdo I am about food, so I lost my starvation and couldn't eat anything for about 4 hours. Luckily I found it in time and I only had 2 bites so I didn't get sick. Yikes! As luck would have it we met up with their cousin Pawel (Paul) and he walked with us around the city square for a while. Everyone that I have met here is so nice! But here are a few pictures of the beautiful town on Jelenia Gora.

Another amazing day! Tomorrow it is supposed to rain so not sure what we've got planned, but I know in the evening with Tomek is done working we will be visiting with him. I am having such a great time here! Even though I can't read or understand a word anyone is saying (unless it is hello or goodbye) I'm still having the time of my life! I'm so thankful for Jon and his family here, and Andrew for helping us get here! Wish he was here with us! More to come so check back with us!!
